Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight players to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
